Lindsay Curby

Town Council Candidate

Crafting a Brand & Campaign Ethos

As a political newcomer, Lindsay Curby was well known in her town but had a blank slate when it came to branding and building community-centric messaging.

Immediately upon meeting her, two things struck me as especially unique and memorable: her infectious energy and her sporty, guy’s girl persona. When I asked if people call her “Curby” it was no surprise when she answered “YES!”

The alliteration was a no-brainer - authentic and magnetic, Curby for Council became the campaign’s calling card.

Brand Color Palette

It being an election off- year (2023), it was important that Lindsay’s color palette look political and to the point, while also matching her fresh energy that would become a cornerstone of her campaign against a longtime incumbent.

A punchy true red, highlighter yellow, and atypical shades of navy and blue created a standout palette.

Campaign Yard Sign

The priorities for Lindsay’s all-important yard sign were:

  1. Get “Curby for Council” stuck in voters’ heads (sides 1 & 2)

  2. Inform voters about the upcoming Nov. 7 election date given little media as an election off-year (sides 1 & 2)

  3. Make people see and feel the Fresh Energy this local mom and businesswoman would bring to town council (side 2)

Campaign Messaging & Website

One of the primary goals of Lindsay’s campaign website was to distinguish her from her longtime incumbent opponent.

First, it was important to humanize her - not as a political candidate, but as a mother and wife in the same phase of life as so many local voters.

Second, to further reiterate her fresh energy, it was important for voters to see her as a relatable fresh face with fresh ideas that spoke to their own everyday concerns and challenges in raising a family in this town.

Finally, it was important for voters to understand just how involved Lindsay had been in her community prior to deciding to run for office. By showcasing local organizations she was associated with, we created an extra layer of credibility, while building upon her authenticity as a relatable, trusted candidate.

Voter Outreach

Doorhangers and postcards were used to get the word out to thousands of voters across Lindsay’s town. In each one, it was important to communicate credibility, trust, an engaging platform, and the energy to get the job done!
